Congratulations to over one-third of our RCMS students for writing an essay on conservation. The entries turned in this year were fabulous! Because of this, choosing the winners were next to impossible. After much thought and deliberation from several judges, the winners are as follows:
3rd place winner Bryanna Owens, 2nd place Kyle Coffey, and 1st place Bailee Allen. These students and their teachers will be recognized in a ceremony this coming spring. Congratulations to everyone!
Congratulations to our kind kid of the week: Andrew Hurt!
We will began our new box tops competition this week. The end date for the first collection period of 2016 is February 24th.
The deadline for any 8th graders who are interested in applying for the Rogers Scholars summer program is February 15th. See Mrs. Cromer or Mrs. Bullock for information or assistance.
Remember to order your yearbook. The cost is $35. Students should have brought home forms last week. Additional forms are available in the office if needed.
Congratulations to Mrs. Stewart’s 6th grade Voyagers on winning the attendance race last week. We saw an improvement in 8th grade attendance. Mrs. McGuire’s Challengers came in second place followed by Mrs. Owens’ Comets.
We thank Trooper Darren Allen for talking with our 7th and 8th graders about the dangers that they will face in their future. His message was appreciate.
Mark your calendars for the following dates. There is no school on Monday, January 18th due to Martin Luther King Day.
On Friday, January 22nd, we will be selling hot chocolate, cakes and cookies during the afternoon. Profits will go to the 8th grade trip fund. Spring pictures will be on Friday, February 5th. There will be a Valentine’s Day dance on Friday, February 12th.
Have a fun-filled and family-filled three-day weekend!
