On November 1, 2016, the RCMS Academic Team won the championship of the Madison, Estill, and Rockcastle County Academic League by beating out Model Middle in the final round of Quick Recall. This is the first championship for the team after just joining the league last year. The wins were thanks in large part to the Quick Recall leaders, Ellie Robinson, Joe Pickle, Elizabeth Mikeworth, Ashley Brenda and captain, Audrey Childress.
